hlockwood Posted April 14, 2012 Share #1 Posted April 14, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) When I bought my M9-P a few months ago, the battery was defective, wouldn't charge, no lights. Leica immediately replaced the battery. The charger works fine, and I bought a second battery. For the question: Is there any way to circumvent the defect in this battery, or should I just trash it? Advertisement Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Hi hlockwood, Take a look here M9 battery Q. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tele_player Posted April 14, 2012 Share #2 Posted April 14, 2012 I believe the answer depends on what is actually defective inside the battery, which cannot be determined from your description. Trash it, or send it to me - I'd love to have a dead M9 battery for examination. I'm curious why there's still no 3rd party replacement that actually works. -robert When I bought my M9-P a few months ago, the battery was defective, wouldn't charge, no lights. lct Posted April 15, 2012 Share #4 Posted April 15, 2012 I would do a full drain outside the camera and try to charge the battery again. See Washington's tip here.
