Advertisement Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Hi ALD, Take a look here How Many M9 and M9-P Cameras have been produced?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Double Negative Posted April 13, 2012 Share #2 Posted April 13, 2012 No, but there was an estimate of 30,000 bodies sold since launch last August (and does not include the M9-P). That worked out to about 40 cameras/day. I don't recall any more recent stats.

andybarton Posted April 13, 2012 Share #4 Posted April 13, 2012 Serial numbers mean nothing and bear no relation to numbers of cameras produced.
hoppyman Posted April 13, 2012 Share #5 Posted April 13, 2012 Estimated here, some months of production more than 30,000 so far. (from a comment some time back by Leica Camera themselves)

Jeff S Posted April 14, 2012 Share #7 Posted April 14, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Andreas Kaufmann also said last Fall that M9 sales were, at that point, "more than double initial expectations". Jeff
Double Negative Posted April 14, 2012 Share #8 Posted April 14, 2012 I think it's safe to say that Leica's still selling them as fast as they can make them, as with their lenses. Impressive, considering that the M9 was released on 09/09/09.

ALD Posted April 14, 2012 Author Share #10 Posted April 14, 2012 Ok i did the Maths and looked at their annual report. This is one profitable company. Making huge amounts of money. They need to be making about 40-60 cameras a working day considering the working weeks available to employees in Germany. Ok so the amount of cameras will be between 45000 and 90000.
