rramesh Posted April 13, 2012 Share #1 Posted April 13, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) What can I say? Simply amazing issue. Photos by Constantine Manos, Tomas Munita and the examples from all 21 lenses in the current line-up. Yet another issue to treasure.
Advertisement Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Hi rramesh, Take a look here LFI 3/2012 April. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LucisPictor Posted April 13, 2012 Share #2 Posted April 13, 2012 100% agreed!

philipus Posted April 13, 2012 Share #4 Posted April 13, 2012 I fully agree! I was very positively surprised by this issue (compared with the previous one, which I commented on earlier in a a thread in the Bar).
wda Posted April 13, 2012 Share #5 Posted April 13, 2012 I exchanged correspondence with the editor of LFI last year. I concluded that important changes were in the pipe-line and this has manifested itself in the latest issue. I sent the editor a message thanking him for the first changes in the journal's balance. I hope it can be sustained. Incidentally, I wonder how many LFI readers have done likewise? I am a great believer in critical but positive and constructive feedback. Keith (M) Posted April 13, 2012 Share #6 Posted April 13, 2012 ... I am a great believer in critical but positive and constructive feedback. Couldn't agree more. Pity it does not work with politicians though!
Guest WPalank Posted April 13, 2012 Share #7 Posted April 13, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I love the 21 Summilux image by Erwin Soegondo. Win is a very courteous, friendly, and accessible person on FB BTW.
250swb Posted April 13, 2012 Share #8 Posted April 13, 2012 Constantine Manos again, much as I love his work, and nearly half the magazine given over to a catalogue of lenses that should given away free in a dealer's showroom? Why does anybody with a Leica need a list of lenses, it is all on the internet if you can't decide! This was a very poor edition of LFI. andybarton Posted April 13, 2012 Share #9 Posted April 13, 2012 I agree, but there are some fine examples of work taken with each lens in that article. I have to say that I still subscribe to LFI, but it's becoming less and less compelling every month.
jdlaing Posted April 13, 2012 Share #10 Posted April 13, 2012 I learned a new spelling for South Corea in this issue.
LucisPictor Posted May 11, 2012 Share #11 Posted May 11, 2012 Does anybody know what's going on with issue 4/2012? In 3/2012 they said it will be delivered on May, 11. And as a subscriber I usually have it some days earlier. But it's not available yet!
mjh Posted May 11, 2012 Share #12 Posted May 11, 2012 Does anybody know what's going on with issue 4/2012? To honour the obvious embargo date LFI had to make sure the issue would not be delivered prior to May 11. It will probably be delivered one day later, just to be on the safe side. earful Posted May 13, 2012 Share #16 Posted May 13, 2012 lol! i am still waiting for the april issue which i ordered off the lfi site because of the lens writeups. the site says 20 days or so to the us, but no one told the u.s. mail service that: hawaii is the boondocks for international publications. now i shall have to order the may issue for the overview of the new 50mm summicron and it may get here in time for photokina! earful Posted May 31, 2012 Share #17 Posted May 31, 2012 well i think in fairness to lfi i must now update my post. i contacted lfi on may 21 about not having received the issue i ordered. they said they would send a second copy and it came yesterday. then, to my astonishment, the same issue arrived again today - postmarked 13 april! there was no sign on the very sturdy cardboard envelope that it had gone through any trauma. i am assuming it sat somewhere here in hawaii till the post office got to the bottom of the "magazines and other inconvenient pieces of mail" box. i will offer lfi payment for the second copy, as i intend to keep both. i should add that when i finally registered my camera (after almost a year) and downloaded a copy of lr4, i also took advantage of the offer of a 6-month free subscription to lfi. the may issue arrived even before i contacted lfi about the awol one and actually pushed me to ask what had happened. so kudos to lfi for excellent customer service.
