JHAG Posted April 11, 2012 Share #6 Â Posted April 11, 2012 A visitor from another realm. The glow behind him is divine, as is your expert rendering of all the details, highlighting & detailing his sublime presence. One of your best. Â I do not disagree, your Honor. Seems an image borne in the past. As Orson Welles/Grigori Arkadin famously said in Confidential Report : "Gentlemen, here's to character". Â PS : I love the way the hint of a limb of the tree echoes the carved wood of the chair, on a diagonal from raw to fabricated. By the same token, the wrinkles near his wrist match the evanescent web of trees remote in the bokeh.
k-hawinkler Posted April 11, 2012 Share #7 Â Posted April 11, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Virgil, Â As usual an excellent portrait. I have seen this guy at the Plaza. Even in Santa Fe, IIRC the city different was one of its slogans, this gentleman sticks out of the crowd. I didn't try to take his picture though, as I had seen your photo of him before and you do this kind of photography so well. Thanks for posting.
