jrethorst Posted April 9, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted April 9, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has this been discussed? A search didn't find anything. The D2 has a great lens; does it have a 'sweet spot' as many lenses do?
Advertisement Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Hi jrethorst, Take a look here Sharpest aperture for Digilux 2?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
carlosecpf Posted April 9, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted April 9, 2012 From my experience, the sweet spot is at f/4. Anything beyond f/5.6 is penalized by diffraction. Â Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk

But it´s perfectly OK wide open too, so don´t restrict yourself to f/4...  And beyond f/5.6 is indeed only for when you absolutely, positively, HAVE to.... I mostly shoot at full aperture unless I know I need more depth of field at closer ranges. It is great wide open.

stuny Posted April 14, 2012 Share #8 Â Posted April 14, 2012 I use my D2 wide open except if I need to compensate for exceptionally bright scenes or except when I need more DOF. More often the former than the latter.
