andybarton Posted April 7, 2012 Share #2 Posted April 7, 2012 Do you have an invite then? It's not an open-house event, AFAIK
jaapv Posted April 7, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted April 7, 2012 Yes. I think there will be more international members invited and it seemed to me to be a nice idea to meet up with our German friends afterwards.
andybarton Posted April 7, 2012 Share #4 Posted April 7, 2012 Agreed, but invitations have been thin on the ground over here I'd go over there if invited.

k_g_wolf ✝ Posted April 11, 2012 Share #6 Posted April 11, 2012 Well, let me try then to draw up something of interest, Jaap. A visit of a museum (one of 170 +/- in Berlin) is certainly a splendid idea and I would suggest the following program on Saturday, 12-05-2012 1. For those who would like to jump on the museum-train -------------------- 11:30 - 14:00 h -------------------- - Visit of: Berlinische Galerie - Museum for Modern Arts, Photography & Architecture Alte Jakobstr. 124- 128, 10969 Berlin- Kreuzberg Besides their permanent exhibits they show two exhibitions at present: - Streets and Faces, photography, 1918 - 1933 - Boris Mikhailov - Photographs, 1966 - 2003 Both are highly recommended. A guided tour could be arranged easily I think. 2. -------------------------- Sightseing inbetween --------------------------- Short photography-walk in Berlin- Kreuzberg, the largest turkish town outside of Turkey. 3. Meeting in a restaurant -------------------- 16:00 h -------------------- At: Literaturhaus, Fasanenstr. 23, (just opposite the LEICA store in #71) 10719 Berlin- Charlottenburg This is a one of a kind "Cafehaus", traditional berlinstyle, with a chance to get more to eat than a piece of cake. Next to this place: Art Galleries, LUMAS- photogallery, MEISTER-camera. And the famous Kurfürstendamm. Best regards GEORG

eckart Posted April 29, 2012 Share #9 Posted April 29, 2012 Georg asked me to put some links to his suggestions: Well, let me try then to draw up something of interest, Jaap. Best regards GEORG Starting in the Berlinische Gallerie, in the directly neighbourhood you'll find the Jüdische Museum Berlin (as jaapv mentioned) later on in Charlottenburg having coffee or snacks in the Literaturhaus, (klick on service and than on café) across the street of the LUMAS Gallerie and last not least the Leica Store Berlin I'd love to be one of the bunch, but I am not sure about my time by now. I might have to work on this saturday. However I wish you a pleasent and in the best way of its meaning a thrilling day regards, Eckart
