Jamie Roberts Posted April 6, 2012 Share #1  Posted April 6, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Another snapshot from me: again the 80 R Summilux shot @ 1.4 on a Canon 5d3 (ISO 1250) (a little cropped actually). From a camera JPEG--C1 doesn't support the RAW files yet Oh, I sharpened this one for the web--and the right eye is just barely in focus

JHAG Posted April 6, 2012 Share #4  Posted April 6, 2012 Lovely and strange expression. Jamie, I suggest we create a 7 and a half club…
roguewave Posted April 6, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted April 6, 2012 Jamie, lovely work. Did you sell your DMR? The canon files are very different than the Hasselblad files.
sblitz Posted April 6, 2012 Share #6 Â Posted April 6, 2012 nice shot, as a dad of two grown boys i can say that this photo captures well what 7 and half is.
Jamie Roberts Posted April 6, 2012 Author Share #7 Â Posted April 6, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks everyone for your comments. I appreciate, as always, you taking time to look! Â @ Ivan--you're right, the tilt of the head is actually sort of formal. I liked it as a total accident and in conjunction with his shoulder. But this is another shot that was there, then gone. Â @ Johan--seven and a half is a weird time, and my son definitely has these weird expressions every now and then We should form a club! Â @ Ben--yes, the DMR has been gone for awhile now, as I waited patiently for Leica to supply an R solution It might still come! But in the meantime, I changed my Nikon AF system (D3) for a new 5d3, because I was wanting to use my R glass without adapting it surgically to something else, and because I'd had enough of Nikon's take on skin tones Just IMO, of course. Now I'm playing with *jpegs* from the 5d3 and being quite shocked; I find skin, especially, very reminiscent of the colour palette with the DMR, without being much to much magenta as my old Canons definitely were. I'm seeing the best colour I've ever seen out of a Canon. And I'm not the only one--people who shoot Phase are noticing the same sort of thing... Anyway, having said that it's still not a DMR But it definitely has its equal charms to me, especially with Leica's lenses! I can't wait to really dig into the RAW files (waiting for C1 here, though I think I'll break down and try DPP).
