My M9 is in drydock for a couple of weeks, and that gave me the impetus to go and get a film leica to keep the lenses in use. Bought an M4 and I absolutely love being back in such a simple world. Anyway, here is a photo from the first role. No internal meter, no battery, just focus, frame, and shoot .... and no one seems to notice either ... lots of fun ... steve

Very nice Steve. I love shooting with my film Leica, but only black and white these days as we've lost most of the color processors out here in the midwest. Where are you getting your color film processed?

one of the upsides of living and working in manhattan. there is photo place near my office where they develop and return slide plus cd for $10 for 36 exposures (camera land on lexington ave between 51st and 52nd st). they have been there for years and years. if there is something really good, they will do a drum scan of that negative or i can send it to any number of pro shops in town to do that. this is just good enough to see what i got and tweak it a bit. did very little on this shot. it is just very liberating to have something purely mechanical in one's hands. but, to be honest, the m9 will be back to being my main camera in a few weeks. mostly because i like being able to change iso on the fly.

thanks for commenting,

steve
