Boulder in Leave Bed - PA, USA

This was a small boulder in a wide area of a big bolderfield. Since I found it very hard climbing all the time I found this one a little bit further off in the woods.

I hope you'll like it.

Iduna - Nice! And, this was a small boulder (more like a rock) indeed. Where are its bigger cousins?

E,

you missed the cousins, here they are but only a few hundreds of them.

The other billion boulders I found decorated with some human creatures crawling on all their fours.

See and press the shutter, that is how it goes. These two guys were enjoying the early october morning air: sunny and crisp, running through golden light. But I think one can feel this also in bw and more of being in harmony with nature.

On monday when coming home from my work the sky changed into a promising foreboding glow. I grabbed my stuff in haste, snatched a sturdy tripod, snatched my raincovers and when I sat in the car it started raining. As I reached my location it seemed as if the major downpour happened somewhere else. In front of my eyes there unfolded a spectacular light and cloud formstion. I could not run for a better vantage point because light changed very quickly.

The colors were as such, processed from RAW the files only underwent a small correction in contrast and came out of the camera in these incredible colors. I used a GND filter for the Elmarit which gave me about 3 f-stops freedom for exposure.

this is one of those pictures when a hazy sun showed up for an hour and then vanish to leave everything grey. I gave sky and land a different treatment of contrast in PSE to exploit what the sensor captured to its limits. I know it is a matter of taste but this image is just the impression I had when taking the picture.
      Have a look!
