As I understand it, advertised retail prices in the US don't include sales taxes.

 

True, because sales tax varies among states. Here in Minnesota some items have no sales tax whatsoever.

Ohio does not collect sales tax on food, but just about everything else is taxable.

Edit: Sorry, this was the result of an irresistible need to make a smart ass comment. I recall a conference at Kent State & it was an interesting place. Including a jazz club that I enjoyed - real live music, made by real people.
