Focal lengths recommendations for Marrakech

Why do we continue asking these questions? I don't understand.

I have to say I am always mystified by these threads too. The thing that determines what lenses I need is ME - the photographer I am, and the photos I tend to take, not where I'm going.

Case in point - walking round The Golden Temple in Bangkok recently I was shooting with a 21mm - my wife, also a photographer, cursed me as she always wanted to be using the 75mm so we had to keep swapping lenses back and forth on the M9. This is in the same location, and often of the same subjects - I shoot context, she shoots detail.

So, if you asked us both what lenses you'd need, you'd get different answers. And we'd both be right, for ourselves.

It's not about where you are, it's about where you're at.

I notice that I am mainly using ONE focal length for a considerable length of time. Changing from 28 to 50 mm is major anguish, from 28 to 90 (v/v) more so.

So possibly the best advice for me would be select some focal length and stick to it. This is me, not anyone else, comments would be appreciated.

A question for those who have experienced Moroccan cities: I note that people shots can be difficult, For me they are the most interesting. I wonder if adding my Fuji X-E2 with 55-200 mm (83-300 equivalent) for my Marrakesh trip is likely to be worthwhile or will it just get me mobbed by an angry crowd?
