stuny Posted February 6, 2012 Share #1 Posted February 6, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) A Weddell seal on Paulet Island, Antarctica. Based on her closed nostrils she must not have liked the smell of penguin guano. Visit our site to see many more shots from last month's visit to The White Continent. Lax Jought Posted February 6, 2012 Share #6 Posted February 6, 2012 A Weddell seal on Paulet Island, Antarctica. ...Visit our site to see many more shots from last month's visit to The White Continent. I would love to visit Antartica at some point. It seems so much further away and more inaccessible than visiting any other country.

leicamann Posted February 7, 2012 Share #8 Posted February 7, 2012 Great shot...ridiculously close for a 35mm Lens?? These guys have very large sharp teeth:confused: Thanks for sharing Cheers, JRM
stuny Posted February 7, 2012 Author Share #9 Posted February 7, 2012 John - Thank you. I wasn't that close. This is with the V-Lux 2 that Leica kindly loaned to me when they couldn't get my R8/DMR/80-200 back in time for the trip. The EXIF data tells me I was at 4.3 for 1/400 of a second zoomed to 35mm equivalent of 440 MM.
beramos Posted February 7, 2012 Share #10 Posted February 7, 2012 I like the attention that has this image, seems to have 3 dimensions. For my taste is a bit overexposed It is made with a tripod? Great picture Stuart, I like it.
stuny Posted February 7, 2012 Author Share #11 Posted February 7, 2012 Bernardo - Thank you, and over the right eye is a blown out. No tripod. I have one but almost never use it.
