JonnyW Posted November 18, 2012 Share #61 Â Posted November 18, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks Andy, I live in Dubai and there is no real support for old cameras since the world went digital. I have tried contacting Sherry several times but am yet to have a reply so I am grateful for the info.

tobey bilek Posted November 19, 2012 Share #62 Â Posted November 19, 2012 Foe anyone who is interested, Sherry K at Golden Touch Camera Repair bought all the spare parts when Leica discontinued service and she will make it better than new. Â She is a Leica trained service tech. Â Her e mail is not always reliable. Phone if no answer.
Messsucherkamera Posted November 23, 2012 Share #63 Â Posted November 23, 2012 Hi, had a CL for many years, it produced wonderful pictures and was a joy to use -- however, its like a BMW ; you want the big engine but settle for the smaller one, ok to start with but eventually the hunger for the bigger engine takes hold.I compromised on the car ( drive a 135i) but couldn't on the camera ( Hammertone MP) Wise choice - man after my own heart! Â The hammertone MP is truly a thing of beauty. If I could turn back time, I would get one back when they hit the market in 2004 (it was '04, right?) I am quite content with my black paint MP which is beautiful in its own right - but Holy Moses is the hammertone MP gorgeous!
wattsy Posted December 14, 2012 Share #64 Â Posted December 14, 2012 but Holy Moses is the hammertone MP gorgeous! Â The hammertone MP (and any other Leica in that finish) is truly a Marmite product if ever there was. I've always thought they look hideous.
MPerson Posted December 14, 2012 Share #65 Â Posted December 14, 2012 I always think of Hammerite paint!

luigi bertolotti Posted December 17, 2012 Share #69 Â Posted December 17, 2012 ...huh, "both"? Now what, Ben? You know you have to elaborate on that. Â I think that for "Both versions of the 'Cron 40" he means the Leitz and the Rokkor branded ones.
