I am going to SE Asia in a few weeks and would like to take the P5000 as a backup to my laptop. Â thanks
Advertisement Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Hi herbkell, Take a look here M8 and the epson P5000 image storage device. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
richedg Posted February 23, 2007 Share #2  Posted February 23, 2007 Hi  I have the M8 and P5000 and you can transfer the images from the card and it will work as a storage device. Sadly it will not display a raw file. If you want to do a preview you need to shoot raw+Jpg.  Best wishes  Richard
SteveP Posted February 23, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted February 23, 2007 Since there are not that many cameras that actually shoot RAW these days, you'd think the brains behind devices like the P5000 would ensure it can read them all and update the software regularly. Sadly that is not the case, but then Apple, the favourite manufacturer of image makers (allegedly) has yet to enhance RAW support in iPhoto. Â iPhoto has a neat trick - if you mount a device with JPEG and RAW files on it and tick the option to delete after downloading, it will download the JPEGs but ignore the RAW files until it deletes them. Brilliant!
