arthury Posted February 23, 2007 Share #1 Posted February 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Trying out B&W mode ... quite nicely balanced. A convenient little feature that's well implemented. Also post-processed it in CaptureNX instead. http://www.leica-camera-user.com/people/17222-listening-story.html#post180498
lars_bergquist Posted February 23, 2007 Share #2 Posted February 23, 2007 My preliminary experiments do show that traditional B&W yellow and orange filters work on the M8 just as well as with black-and-white film. The response may well be a little bit different due to the extended red sensitivity (something like Kodak Panatomic of the 1930's to 1940's) and this difference may also make a yellow filter less necessary than with modern panchromatic film. This however remains to be seen -- miserable weather and the after-effects of an operation has made it impossible for me to run a major reality test. But I can scarcely wait.
