Keith (M) Posted December 29, 2011 Share #1 Posted December 29, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I do not usually try my hand at still-life, but the postman delivered a handy little adaptor this week which enabled me to mount my screw-thread 1957 Elmar 90mm f4 lens onto my year-old M9. So, something was needed to try it out on for a quick check of focussing and that something was lurking in a corner... C+C welcomed.

pauledell Posted December 29, 2011 Share #2 Posted December 29, 2011 Keith, From the looks of this picture, you have a real find. Excellent tones, texture and acceptable sharpness. Paul
sandro Posted December 29, 2011 Share #3 Posted December 29, 2011 Keith, I like it very much. But a slightly stronger contrast would perhaps make the photo stronger. Like a stronger white of the flowers and a darker background. If this is a first try, I am anxious to see more of you! Lex

Michael Hiles Posted December 30, 2011 Share #6 Posted December 30, 2011 ...But a slightly stronger contrast would perhaps make the photo stronger... Perhaps but not too much. This picture does not call for much more contrast. Very nice indeed.

Don't agree, sorry. Lovely tones as is, IMO. ps I think, I would crop the tiny part of glass vase showing though.
