Hi all,

Till now I have been using a Loewe case "Nova 3" for M8 plus a lens +3 more lenses +FD24 and minor accessories.

I'm thinking about the "Outdoor combination case (large)" included in Leica Catalog. Is there somebody using that bag?

Cheers,

Francisco.

I use the large outdoor Leica bag for my R-outfit, where ith holds R9 plus DMR and 6-7 lenses,an extender, flash, filters, etc. Greatly recommended for R users.

For my M outfit I have the small outdoor Leica bag which holds the M8 plus 5-7 lenses, flash, filters, etc. I recommend this bag for M users, since the lens compartments of the big bag are better suited for the bigger R-lenses.

When you only need to carry a smaller M outfit with up to 3 lenses, flash and filters I recommend Leicas Billingham bag.

All bags are well padded and very durable.

Artisan&Artist* Bags

You should consider this one. Perfect for your combination

I don't like the Outdoor combination case (large) from Leica

As I know the only dealer for Artisan brand in Europe was in the UK. But it is closed. Do you know Jarle where to buy those bags near Spain?

Thank you,

Francisco.

With my M8 I use 24/2.8 asph+Cron 35+Cron 50+Cron 90apo, and I forgot to say I also put into the bag the small tripod & ball head. Will all of that fit in the small one?

Thank you,

Francisco.

Yes, the tripod and ball head can be accomodated in the front pocket, and the four lenses can easily be accomodated in the interior of the bag. In the two side pockets you have room for keeping sun shades for Wide angle lenses, SF-24D flash, battery charger, etc., and in the front pocket there will further be room for filters, spare battery, extra SD-cards, etc. Even after filling the bag with all this you will still have room for an extra lens or two (there is also a room under the camera body compartment), and if you can get Leica's rings for mounting two lenses together socket to socket (I do not remember if they are delivered with the bag or have gone out of production), you may even store further two lenses (you could do that also by using the leather pouches supplied with the two extra lenses). There is even a room with a zipper on the inside of lid of the bag. The only problem of course is, that the more you put into the bag, the heavier it will become. So, there is plenty of room, and the bag is really versatile.

It might be worth looking at the Billingham/Leica Combination M bag. This is available through Leica and dealers only and not from general Billingham dealers. It is about half the cost of the Leica outdoors bag at GBP148. It holds an M plus either two other lenses or one lens plus a spare body. The front pouch on mine holds spare SD cards, an SF24-D flash, cleaning stuff, spare body and lens caps, mini tripod, release, kitchen sink (sorry lying about that one) . You can get various size pouches which attach to the sides if you need to carry more. It is beautifully made and shower-proof. Not sure if it would withstand a monsoon.

Billinghams are beautiful but dust gets in very easily. I have been extremely satisfied with the TENBA bags for both my M and R cameras/lenses. The traveller series is particularly well designed and secure. TENBA GEAR

:)

That is a concern about the Billingham, The lid just sits on top with no zip. Tenba stuff is good - I have an iLugger bag for my 20" iMac.
