Yes he e-mails me and let's me know if he has any on hand . Nice to build relationships with these Leica dealers  Yes, Sean knows you referred me. I could have ordered from B&H, but I'd rather see the smaller shop get the business. Plus, Sean's 15% restocking fee helps assure me I'm getting fresh equipment rather than someone's return. That 100% B&H return policy can work against you sometimes. I do have a secret method though on how to tell whether a camera has been sold before. Guest guy_mancuso Posted February 21, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted February 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sean will NOT sell you a return unless he specifically says so. I know I bought one. LOL

deltoid1 Posted February 21, 2007 Author Share #9  Posted February 21, 2007 Congratulations Carmen! I have no regrets about making the purchase :-) Cheers, Wilfredo+ Benitez-Rivera Photography  Thanks Wilfredo. I was on the fence for a while, but then I figured I'll never know unless I try one. If I have to, I can always ebay it later for very little loss. I see people asking a premium for the camera. I have a feeling I'm really going to like shooting with the camera though. LichMD Posted February 21, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted February 21, 2007 Congratulations! I think you'll find this camera very hard to put down. Make sure to post some pics and give us your impressions. I'm very happy with my M8, just need more time to shoot.
carstenw Posted February 21, 2007 Share #11 Â Posted February 21, 2007 So, don't keep us in suspense! What is the secret method?
deltoid1 Posted February 21, 2007 Author Share #12 Â Posted February 21, 2007 So, don't keep us in suspense! What is the secret method? Â My girlfriend showed me this trick. When you open the flap of the lens box, do it slowly and see how much tension is in the flap. A flap that hasn't been opened will resist opening ever so slightly. But when it has been opened once before, the flap opens much more easily. Opening a thin cardboard flap creases the flap at the fold just a bit, I think because people bend it back to the 90 degree mark. I could not believe it when she first showed me, but it is true. Try it! Â I can't wait to try that 50 'Lux. I just read this review, and I have goosebumps! Â Leica Summilux-M 1:1.4/50mm ASPH Â I was looking at thedigitaleyes crops of the Canon 50 1.2L vs the Canon 50 1.4. No difference at f 1.4. I think I will be astounded by the quality of the 50 Lux at 1.4. Â I usually need to shoot my Canon at 2.8 to get good sharpness. So, if I can get an extra stop or two out of the Leica lens, plus the lower handheld minimum shutter speed of a rangefinder, I can make up for the worse high ISO performance of the m8. We'll see in a few days. Â No b&w 486 filters to be found though. I can7t find one anywhere.
tom0511 Posted February 21, 2007 Share #13 Â Posted February 21, 2007 Congrats. Its a joy to use the M8 and even more to look at the images. Great lens as well, as I said before, I like the combination of sharp with smooth bokeh of the 50/1.4asph. Regards, Tom
