I am a M6 guy (Film!!! Imagine!) but I am looking into buying a M9.

Does anybody have experience whether the two Voightlander leneses I own:

1. Voigtlander Ultra Wide-Heliar 12mm f/5.6 Aspherical

2. the 15mm Aspherical

can be coded and are useable on the M9?

I own also Leica lenses but the ones above are critical.

Many thanks!

it can be coded, there is a product you can buy to give you the markings, but it does not work well and the ink smears. You can set it manually in the camera though with the equivalent Leica lens and that works okay.

Coding works brilliantly on my 12mm. You do need to use a pen that won't smear, which is included in the kit, and let it dry properly. On the current lens there is a coding groove and in three months I have yet to have to reapply the code. YMMV.
