I was curious as to how well the 12/5.6 Voigtlander performed on the M8 ... so I picked one up over the weekend. I brought it over to the art museum for a quick run-through. I have to say that I'm pleased. As others have been curious to see more images with the combination, I thought that I'd post them here. Very nice images. I think a special exception should be made for new lens pics regarding posting here.

Anyway, curious as to the corners. At what stop are they sharp?

Kurt,

These are really nice shots. I have the CV 15, and had thought about the 12, as it does provide a much wider perspective. It looks very sharp. I take it you did stop down just a bit, but even the indoor shots look really crisp right to the corners. I was really not aware that this lens did quite as nice a job as your shots indicate. Thanks for sharing these. I like what the lens is doing here, but I like your compositions more.

Just occurred to me. Do these lenses, the12mm and the 15mm, accept filters? Are there IR filters available for these?

Carmen,

There are no filter threads on the CV 15/4.5 lens, but folks have found a way to fit a 39mm UV/IR cut filter that does not introduce any additional vignetting for the M8. Not sure about the CV12/5.6. The problem still comes into play with having the correct correction for the cyan drift that will appear in the vignetted area. There are a couple of posts on this forum that are trying to tackle that with various tools (PTtools and even using reverse masks in PS). I have not used any filters on the CV15/4.5 yet. My outdoor stuff has not looked bad at all, and for the indoor things under potential IR -rich lighting, the profiles that Jamie has posted do a pretty respectable job. I will probably opt for the 39mm filter on the 15, but still need to figure out how to deal with the cyan drift. The closest coding that seems to help for this lens is the 21/2.8, I think, based on things Sean has offered here. I have not tried that yet, as the adaptor mount does not provide enough room for coding on the version I have.

Long answer, but there were several related topics connected here.;)
