finarphin Posted November 14, 2015 Share #216 Posted November 14, 2015 (edited) This doesn't fit with the sunset thread because it's sunrise. But even though it's mostly a picture of a lake, there are mountains in it, so I thought I'd post it here. Lake Tahoe, Oct. 2015. This is with an M3, with a 50mm f2 Summicron collapsible, ltm (with adapter) - I don't have any M lenses. Fuji Velvia 50; scan of positive. I can't focus the camera, so I just set it on infinity and exposed. Welcome, dear visitor! Mine does very well and so do all my ltm-lenses without any problems to M3, M6 and M8.2.
finarphin Posted November 15, 2015 Share #219 Posted November 15, 2015 Why can't you focus your Summicron 50 collapsible in lens mount M39 with your M3 ? 1. My eyesight isn't so good. 2. I can't hold the camera still enough, and haven't been using fast film, either. 3. The little patch that contains the two images to be matched is very small. It's much smaller on an M3 than a IIIf. 4. The main reason, though, is that one of the two images that need to be brought together in the viewfinder is so faint as to be almost invisible. If the subject contains something like an earring glinting in the sun, then I can see it, otherwise forget it. I presume the viewinder prisms or lenses or whatever, need to be cleaned, replaced, or calibrated. The camera is a restoration project, sure. Good luck with your M3 restoration, James
