Riley Posted February 18, 2007 Share #2  Posted February 18, 2007 welcom Graeme four thirds is an open system supported by a consortium of companies Olympus, Panasonic, Leica, Sigma, Fuji, Kodak, Sanyo they will all share the 4/3 mount (although many have other mounts too) there is a lens roadmap available in pdf, and down loadable from the bottom of the page here  Four Thirds  and a look at a range of lenses here  Four Thirds | Products | Lenses  some 5 more lenses are coming from Leica D in 4/3 mount, and another 5 from Olympus this year. It is also expected that the rest of the Sigma's will get 4/3 mounts this year too.  A 25mm/1.4 is due/overdue for release, perhaps in March at the PMA Sigma have a 24/1.8  remember that because of the 2x crop a 24mm becomes 48mm effective focal (EF) so if you were looking for a 24mm EF, Olympus 11-22mm/2.8, and shortly a 12-60mm from Olympus
fielden Posted February 18, 2007 Author Share #3 Â Posted February 18, 2007 Thanks for your help Rob. it is 25mm that I am looking for. 50mm with crop factor. I like to do natural light portraits and this is the reason for fast standard lens.
sean_reid Posted February 18, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted February 18, 2007 I believe there's a Sigma 30/1.4 in 4/3 mount. I know that's not a Leica lens but it might be good so we probably shouldn't dismiss it out of hand. Â Cheers, Â Sean
Riley Posted February 18, 2007 Share #5  Posted February 18, 2007 well you might consider the 30mm/1.4 Sigma as well then heres some comment on that  BIOFOS &tm; for Olympus collectors  Sigma 24mm F1.8 EX DG Macro.or Sigma 30mm 1.4. any samples? any reviews or opinions? : Olympus SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review  It is expected the Leica 24/1.4 will have better performance, trouble is its been awhile coming
