Can anyone show me pics of their leica m9 "pimped up".

Unfortunately i can't find any with my leather case. But here's a couple others...

This shows my M9 with soft release from Match Technical and Thumbie from Steve Barnett,

plus a wrist strap from Gordy's Straps that I've had for quite a while, long before the M9.

Zeiss Planar 2.0/50mm lens attached.

And here's another shot with my red Artisan and Artist strap.

The Thumbie looks good, any issues of falling off or if removed can it be refastened?

As posted right above this post, no issues with it falling off. It holds very tight. And yes, it comes with extra fastening strips just in case. It's also very comfortable and leaves the hot shoe open.

Highly recommended.

The last point about the hot shoe interests me most. When I use the Thumbs Up I lose my hot shoe. No PC terminal is available so any thoughts of flash require removal of the Thumbs Up. I place my viewfinder in the shoe of the Thumbs Up and haven't tested what (if any) change there is to it's vertical view.

Camera Back: 1.4x Magnifier, Thumbs Up with shoe, 24mm Viewfinder in shoe on top.

Below camera on baseplate is Markins Quick release plate, otherwise there is a Leica 1/2 Case. Old Leica strap from 1980's (not 100% sure), this is the strap that used 2 1/2 circles to encase the eyelets, medal on strap is gaffer taped to prevent scrating. A wrist strap is attached on right hand side, when not being used it is wrapped along the larger strap. The eyelets have Nikon triangle rings with plastic protector. Top deck is Nikon release. Back top edge has info on M9 finders, back of tape has magnification for finder, 1.25x, 1.4x. 50mm Planar has info on lens shade: sharpest aperture to least, and back focus reminder for f2. M9 is covered on front with a chrome tape, the Leica circle is half covered. And if anyone happened to wonder if I am in the fashion business, the answer is no. This is an ongoing work in progress.:D

That´s one ugly piece of camera you have there. The Nikon release button just makes me cry.

Why is the leica circle only half covered? Sounds pretty inconsequent :o

Upon purchase the paint was damaged by a Pocket Wizard Mini TT1. The gray paint is so poor that the PLASTIC tighening wheel grooved into the paint. Leicas are great cameras but their finishes may be some of the worse in the camera industry. This started an obsession to protect the paint if any is to be left from potentially hard use hiking and climbing.

Nikon release is small and does not cover the shutter area, the concentric lever can more easily be seen and moved. re: crying ...Sorry guys but if you have that much time to be emotional about Japanese camera companies you need to get a life.

Leica half circle is part whimsy part work in progress.

Depends on the use - mine fell off in 45 degrees C. and pouring rain, plus copious amounts of sweat. Otherwise the thumbie is very well fastened. I got a spare strip of tape when I bought it, but I couldn't find the Thumbie any more :(

The tape with notes.... ah, interesting.

This is an ongoing work in progress.:D

You could add one more tape-note. It would read, "Breath in. Breathe Out. Repeat."
