bpalme Posted November 1, 2011 Share #1 Posted November 1, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Kind of interesting since it's hard to find a new one. Maybe most folks that really wanted the P are dwindling in numbers. Makes me wonder what the used price point will be when the dust settles soon and these are readily available like a standard M9. I know it's just one auction but still says something. Sorry if you own one but I'm rooting for price drops... so don't take it the wrong way. eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices
Advertisement Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Hi bpalme, Take a look here Chrome M9-P just sold for $6889.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bpalme Posted November 1, 2011 Author Share #2 Posted November 1, 2011 Question... since I'm kinda new to Leica. Do they drop the new prices as demand withers? I was in M43 before and as demand dries up from new products the price slowly falls. The M9 has been out since 2009 and still 7K.
StephenPatterson Posted November 1, 2011 Share #3 Posted November 1, 2011 ... Sorry if you own one but I'm rooting for price drops... so don't take it the wrong way. No problem in rooting, but I wouldn't hold my breath. This auction was for a 5 month old used camera, so no, it did not sell for full MSRP. The price of used M9s has been running in the $6000 range, and this auction was about $900 more, so I think this is the correct price considering the MSRP for an M9-P is $1000 more than the M9. There are so few silver chrome M9-Ps I would not expect many such auctions to appear in the next year, except for those from Asia at thousands over list. If you're looking for a bargain then search out a good M8 in black or an M9 with actuations, and avoid M8.2s and M9-Ps. And no, my silver chrome M9-P is not for sale To answer your 2nd question Leica does not lower prices. They come out with new models, raise prices, and discontinue the old models.
