Advertisement Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Hi barnack, Take a look here Leica 28mm Hektor f/6.3. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wda Posted October 7, 2011 Share #2 Posted October 7, 2011 I have never owned this lens but did buy the first Elmarit to follow it in the 28mm range. That was described as superior to the preceding Summaron which surpassed the Hektor 6.3. Historically, the Hektor would be quite soft in comparison with current 28mm lenses and could not be considered a serious competitor. It depends by what standards you would be judging it. It could be worth more to a collector.

Guest #12 Posted October 7, 2011 Share #4 Posted October 7, 2011 Can anyone comment on the optical performance of this lens? Thanks so bad it's good. What do you want to use it for?
luigi bertolotti Posted October 15, 2011 Share #5 Posted October 15, 2011 I have one (so as the Summaron 5,6) : is really an old style lens, with decent contrast and a general softness on the whole area; vignetting is not so bad for a lens of that age; most are uncoated... and the hood is rather difficult to find. Is fantastically compact, truly pocketable.: diaphragm setting is uneasy to operate, but when I used it (many many years ago... was my first 28) in practice I kept it always between 8 and 11. Summaron f 5,6 is just a bit bigger and is a much finer lens for using.
