mwalker649 Posted February 15, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted February 15, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I did it. I sold my 5D, lenses, flash ect and bought a black M8, Leica 50 2.0 and 28 2.8. I had a D2 before and I never was satisfied with the Cannon gear, to big and bulkyfor me. I'm a bit concerned though I liked the wide 16-35L. I'm I going to be happy with the 28 f2.8 shooting landscapes?

macusque Posted February 15, 2007 Share #3  Posted February 15, 2007 Yes, get the Voigtländer 15/4.5. Small and inexpensive but definitely better than the 16-35L. Look here and here for some opinions and images.  Ciao
DaveEP Posted February 15, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted February 15, 2007 I second (third) the call for the C/V 15. It's a fantastic little lens, and beats anything Canon has to offer in the wide angle.
stuny Posted February 15, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted February 15, 2007 Mike - Â There have been very many superb CV15/M8 photos posted here in the last two months. To a non-user such as myself, this looks like an excellent solution for you. Also based on what we've seen posted here, the new, wider Tri-Elmar might better meet your needs. We're told by users on this Forum that it is a true zoon, though you wouldn't be able to see the zoom effect in the viewfinder in the mannner you are used to with your SLR. Photoskeptic Posted February 15, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted February 15, 2007 Mike, although I have been a Leica film shooter for years, I have relied on Nikon for my digital output. I, too, am in the process of selling off my Nikon gear so I can make room for an M8. Already have the lenses...
Guest guy_mancuso Posted February 15, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted February 15, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I sold of all my Canon gear and it was a lot of it to go Leica with the DMR and sold my Nikon for the M8 .Best decisions I have made on gear in many many years. Heidi S Posted February 15, 2007 Share #8 Â Posted February 15, 2007 Mike, I loved my Digilux 2 so much that I sold my Canon gear and bought a M8 and the Digilux 3. Haven't been sorry yet. You will find the Leica lens to take the place of the 16-35, and I'm sure anyone you decide on, you will like as much if not more. Â Enjoy!
