Jon Pop Posted September 14, 2011 Share #1 Posted September 14, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone out there have experience with Blazinal developer? I've been told it's the same formulation as Rodinal, but it's not on the massive dev chart, so I'm not sure as to times etc. There's a place in Canada that carries blazinal (I can't get adonal/rodinal). Want to try some with HP5+, etc. Would really welcome the wisdom and opinions of the forum members out there. Thanks! Jon
Advertisement Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Hi Jon Pop, Take a look here Blazinal developer?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
NB23 Posted September 14, 2011 Share #2 Posted September 14, 2011 Since it's the same as rodinal, why not use rodinal times?
Stealth3kpl Posted September 14, 2011 Share #3 Posted September 14, 2011 I think I'd do the same. Test a roll with EV=ISO, EV= +/- 1 and EV= +/- 2 . Develop as it were rodinal. Check which frames have the best spread of grey tones then adjust developing time for contrast. (This according to Toby Bilek). Pete
pico Posted September 14, 2011 Share #4 Posted September 14, 2011 Blazinal developer is Rodinal rebranded and bottled in Canada.
NB23 Posted September 14, 2011 Share #5 Posted September 14, 2011 While on the subject of rebranding: I would have called it "Copynal". Easier sales.
maurometallo Posted September 14, 2011 Share #6 Posted September 14, 2011 Yes, I have used Blazinal: It is the same as Rodinal. Undistinguishable down to the shape of the bottle.
thomasw_ Posted September 15, 2011 Share #7 Posted September 15, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes I have used it. As others have stated, use your preferred regime for developing with rodinal, because it is exactly like rodinal
