eudemian Posted February 13, 2007 Share #1 Posted February 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sorry to revisit this topic but I would like to clear this up definitively. My dealer is telling me that he can't find anyone at Leica who will accept that macro adapter for the Elmar 90 is 6 bit, with its own code. I think he is mistaken but can anyone who has this adapter please let me know that it has 6 bit coding like the lens, that way I can be on secure ground. Thanks for your help. Advertisement Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Hi eudemian, Take a look here Macro adapter 6 Bit. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marknorton Posted February 13, 2007 Share #2 Posted February 13, 2007 Reminds me of that old joke "Don't ask me, I only work here". Here's a scan of the back of a coded macro adapter. Apologies for the dismal image quality - I dropped a brass walking stick duck head handle on it and it cracked the glass and this is when I found out HP - a useless company if ever there was one - do not repair products which are barely 3 years old. But that's another story.
marknorton Posted February 13, 2007 Share #3 Posted February 13, 2007 Counting clockwise and black as 1 and white as 0, that's code 40. The 90/4 has code 39 (BWWBBB).
eudemian Posted February 13, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted February 13, 2007 Thank you Mark, that has pretty well nailed it. It makes me lose faith with my dealer if he is saying Leica UK know nothing about this. Anyway thanks. Tom
carstenw Posted February 13, 2007 Share #5 Posted February 13, 2007 You can find that code, as well as all others I am aware of so far, on the webpage in my sig, with photos of the codes.
