chazlin Posted February 13, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted February 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone, Â I received a new 75mm Summicron AA a few days ago, and noticed a little defect with mine. The aperture ring seems to get a little tight at f/5.6... (actually it starts gradually at f/4, peaks at f/5.6, and ends at f/8) Has anyone ever come across this kind of defect in their lenses? any idea how it came about? It's not by design right? =) If there's no big problem or future consequence to this, I actually quite like it that way because I can "feel" where f/5.6 is without having to take my eyes off the viewfinder... Otherwise it's a fantastic lens! =) Â Charles

marknorton Posted February 13, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted February 13, 2007 It's not normal, that's for sure. Only you can jusdge whether it's sever enough for you to send it back to Solms to be fixed.
MP3 Posted February 13, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted February 13, 2007 Mine us silky smooth from 2 to 11. So smooth that I feel it on the loose side = ) Just my sample. Â Cheers Matthew
chazlin Posted February 14, 2007 Author Share #4 Â Posted February 14, 2007 Thanks for the help everyone =) hmm... I guess my main concern is if the tight area is causing any long term damage... if not I rather like the "reminder" at f/5.6... =)
