Well done. I was surprised to see this fine Art Deco example in Glasgow. I thought cropping the name would slow things down.

Correct Le Maréchal Sébastian le Prestre de Vauban. Now all you have to find is a hill fortress designed by him not that far from Gourdon, remembering that these would have been on the old border between France and the Grand Duchy of Savoy.
