Guest WPalank Posted February 12, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted February 12, 2007 For those who don't have the time to make their own presetsInside Lightroom Thanks Im (as always), I also noticed that they had "calibration presets" for the M8 and M8 with IR filter. I tried downloading the individual ones and it directed me to a page saying" this page is no longer available" (I'm on a mac). But when I went to the bottom of the page and hit the "Download all presets" button, it worked fine. Cheers! Â <spelling and an addition>
lepremier Posted February 13, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted February 13, 2007 I'm still a bit new to Lightroom......I downloaded the Color Presets, but cannot find the folder "Develop Presets" under the described install method. \application support etc. I found it instead under Adobe Lightroom\develop presets....easy enough, however when I copy the downloaded templates into this folder they don't appear within the dropdown when running the program....any suggestionds please, thanks. I had the same experience. Folder structure as you described and not as on the UK website instructions. Also, cal presets do not show up when placed in the develop presets folder. Using Mac, LR beta4.

Guest WPalank Posted February 13, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted February 13, 2007 I'm still a bit new to Lightroom......I downloaded the Color Presets, but cannot find the folder "Develop Presets" under the described install method. \application support etc. I found it instead under Adobe Lightroom\develop presets....easy enough, however when I copy the downloaded templates into this folder they don't appear within the dropdown when running the program....any suggestionds please, thanks. I had the same problem, but I figured it out. First, you found the correct folder to put the presets "Library>Adobe Light Room>Develop Presets". For whatever reason, the presets on the website have the wrong file extension at the end of their name, so you have to rename them. All the presets end in "irtemplate". Simply delete the "ir" and substitute "ag" so that the end of the file name reads "agtemplate"instead. I'm on a Mac and my machine asks me if I am sure I want to rename, hit OK. The avatar for the template even changes from a blanksheet to the Light Room logo. Cheers!

ustein Posted February 13, 2007 Share #9  Posted February 13, 2007 >~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Develop  This location is correct with LR 1.0. You use Beta 4.  Uwe
mitchell Posted February 13, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted February 13, 2007 Could you explain the function of the Presets? Do they work like Profiles? Can you get as good results from M8 +Lightroom + Presets as M8+C1 +Jamie's or Edmund's Profiles? Â I would love to use Lightroom instead of C1 which I find cumbersome and non-intuitive, but I worry that the color won't be as good. Â Thanks, Â Mitchell
Guest WPalank Posted February 13, 2007 Share #11  Posted February 13, 2007 Could you explain the function of the Presets? Do they work like Profiles? Can you get as good results from M8 +Lightroom + Presets as M8+C1 +Jamie's or Edmund's Profiles? Presets are just a script that apply to the settings in the develop module. They can work like profiles or they can be used to create an effect like cyanotype or sepia toning. I'm not sure how this one M8 profile for IR cut (daylight and tungsten)compares to Jamies. Just try it and see what you think.  The presets are on the left hand side of the Develop Module. The program already comes with some pre-packaged presets such as "Antique Greyscale". This is where any presets that you add will show up as well. To see the effect witout committing, simply drag your mouse over the names of the presets and the effect will show up in the Preview Pane.  I personally love the WB tool in Light Room. Where a grid shows up to truly tell you if you are clicking on a neutral pixel. (see below) Welcome, dear visitor! jedbest Posted February 13, 2007 Share #12  Posted February 13, 2007 The presets inn question were mad using Eric Chan's method of calibrating in ACR Calibrate Adobe Camera Raw 3.x  After that, the image with the presets was imported into LR. When it came into LR it had the adjustments so I only needed to save it and label it and save as a preset.  I hope this helps.  Jed
Guest WPalank Posted February 13, 2007 Share #13 Â Posted February 13, 2007 Jed, Thanks for replying and going through all the trouble. As I reported above, there are two slight glitches at the site. 1) You can't download the individual callibration presets (you have to hit download all at the bottom of the page). 2) The file extension "Irtemplate" does not work in LR Beta 4.1. It has to be changed to "agtemplate". My assumption is that you have a copy of LR 1.0 where the extension is different.
jedbest Posted February 13, 2007 Share #14 Â Posted February 13, 2007 Sorry about the problem with the extensions. It was an oversight. Â Jed
