analoguser Posted August 17, 2011 Share #1 Posted August 17, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is the newest 28mm f2.8 Elmarit asph. compatible with the M5? Does this lens interfere with the meter arm on the M5 when it swings into position?
Advertisement Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Hi analoguser, Take a look here elmarit 28mm f2.8 Asph. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jamesk8752 Posted August 17, 2011 Share #2 Posted August 17, 2011 I haven't tried this combination and I am away from home so I can't run a test for you at the moment, but the rear protrusion of the Elmarit-M 29 ASPH is relatively short - I'm confident that it won't be an issue on your M5. ho_co Posted August 17, 2011 Share #3 Posted August 17, 2011 Agree. I don't think Leica has brought out any lenses since the introduction of the M5 that wouldn't work with it. And since their 2nd 28 was already designed to work with the M5, I'm sure they wouldn't allow themselves the luxury of backsliding.

Lord Fluff Posted August 17, 2011 Share #5 Posted August 17, 2011 I can't imagine that lens being incompatible with anything - it's too damn tiny to collide with anything!
analoguser Posted August 18, 2011 Author Share #6 Posted August 18, 2011 Thank you all for your answers to my question. I don't have the lens as yet. I think that it will arrive today.
