Skippy Sanchez Posted February 10, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted February 10, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I got a loaner M8 yesterday & have used it on a few assignments for my newspaper, and all went well (sorta). Â on one assignment i had the camera set on raw+fine jpeg & was shooting single frames, but for a few seconds was shooting rather rapidly, and the camera just froze up. i turned the camera off, took the battery out for about 30 seconds, put it back in, turned the camera back on & resumed shooting (although i did have a few bizarre blank frames when i got back to the office). Â this evening i was shooting some test pics and set the camera on 'continous' and shot maybe three frames (Raw+fine jpeg) and the damn thing locked up again but wouldn't turn back on after removing the battery for about 5 minutes. the battery showed 1/3 power, so i removed it and am in the process of charging up. Â i take it this is a much more common problem than first suspected. so, sean, are you seeing any correlations in your poll yet? maybe this camera just can't handle rapid shooting. BTW, i'm using a sandisk 2gig ultra II. Â i'll update after the battery finishes charging.

I'll try to post results of my survey this weekend. Sorry to hear about the lockup.  Cheers,  Sean
Skippy Sanchez Posted February 11, 2007 Author Share #3 Â Posted February 11, 2007 apparently the issue was the battery didn't have as much power as the indicator led me to believe. after fully recharging, everything seemed good again.
