In a nutshell: 10 days in Germany for 13 participants. Christian Erhardt from Leica US, Ralph Hagenauer from Leica Solms, and myself (David Farkas from Dale Photo & Digital) will be leading the trip. Instruction at the Leica Akademie, loaner cameras and lenses for the duration of the trip, driving Porsche 911s, staying at top hotels, eating at great restaurants, and of course the beautiful German and Swiss coutryside to photograph will make this an adventure to remember.

Please contact me at (954) 920-3648 or by email at info@dalelabs.com if you are interested.

The Leica/Porsche Tour: Savor

German engineering and hospitality at its best!

Here’s your chance to experience firsthand the convergence of old-world craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technology at two legendary world-class manufacturing facilities—all while taking in some of Europe’s most spectacular sights, lodging at first class hotels, and dining at some of the finest restaurants in the region.

The Leica/Porsche trip, from June 17-26, 2007, includes such memorable delights as a tour of the charming Romanesque town of Wetzlar, birthplace of the Leica, a tour of the Leica factory in Solms, exploring Heidelberg, one of the most beautiful cities in Germany, and visiting the renowned Porsche automobile factory. You’ll even get a chance to drive a classic Porsche 911 around Switzerland’s picturesque Lake Zurich!

Other highlights include shooting pictures in the Black Forest, lodging and dining at the famed resort of Baden-Baden, and visits to two royal palaces, Neuschwantstein, one of the most famous castles in Europe, and Linderhof Castle, a rococo masterpiece built in the ornate French style. This memorable event will conclude with a one-day photo tour of Munich, the capital of Bavaria and the beer capital of the world!

This prestige trip has been arranged and organized by the Leica Academy, and Leica instructors will be on hand to answer any technical questions and to guide you in the use of the latest Leica equipment, including the landmark Leica M8. Plenty of Leica loaner lenses and equipment will also be available to help you maximize your picture-taking potential.

Interested? For complete details on prices, scheduling, and to sign up for the tour of a lifetime, please call David Farkas at Dale Photo & Digital (954) 920-3648.

Hello,

if you stay in Stuttgart and you are very interested in cars, you should visit the new Mercedes-Benz museum (even though you are driving with the 911 (the better car) ;-)).

There you can find al great cars of the company and the museum has an extraordinary architecture.

Here is the link:

Regards and congratulations to this top event!

Armold, I did think about the advertising aspect of this - expecially given the expense and the limited number of forum participant who could attend, but given that there appears to be official Leica participation in the event that doesn't bother me. I'm more bothered about the number of stickies getting out of hand - 4 seems more than enough to me.

LOL. I suppose 'adventure' is one way of putting it.

I agree, I went to the new M-B museum in September, just excellent and you get to keep the headset and neck-band of the commentary gizmo as a souvenir. Great photographic opportunities too.
