wilfredo Posted June 11, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted June 11, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I visited a flea market today and found myself drawn to the dolls and paintings I saw in the different stalls. There is a sadness about these orphaned objects waiting to be rescued. Here are a few. M8, 35mm Summicron, ASPH.

wilfredo Posted June 12, 2011 Author Share #6 Â Posted June 12, 2011 Thank you Stuart, Stefan, and Paul. I never really know what will grab my attention on a given day but I could have spent the whole morning doing this. I plan to go back, it seems abandoned dolls have reached a crisis level and this needs to be documented. LOL. Â How ironic that in the second image there is an upside down flag, which is a distress signal.

rea1412 Posted June 13, 2011 Share #8 Â Posted June 13, 2011 Nice shots! all the photos with the old broken dolls give the feeling of sadness, abandonment and also a little bit eery.
daveleo Posted June 13, 2011 Share #9  Posted June 13, 2011 Wilfredo  Nice series, love the B&W treatment. Your Madonna photo is a work in itself . . . the composition, environment add a lot to your image in that one.
wilfredo Posted June 13, 2011 Author Share #10 Â Posted June 13, 2011 Thank you Dave and Aurea for the comments, they are much appreciated. Â The mega flea market at Golden West College in Huntington Beach, California is buzzing with activity on Saturday morning. It is a great place to get lost with an M camera. Â @Auria: Â I agree. These are only dolls yet there is a sadness about them. One would think they were lost children in a crowded market. Â @Dave: Leica digital M's make for what I believe is B&W photography with real character and flavor. Once you've captured the image, it is a genuine satisfaction to do PP, you've got something to work with.
