CGR Posted June 10, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted June 10, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Recently purchased my X1 and currently learning to use it. Will do most of my early shooting in fully auto mode. Any advice on how to set-up the camera for this mode will be gratefully received.
Advertisement Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Hi CGR, Take a look here X1 settings for novice owner. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
HiltonJoy Posted June 11, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted June 11, 2011 Probably open a can of worms here but .... By fully auto I guess you mean Shutter A, Aperture A, Auto ISO, AWB, AF Depends a lot on your subject but perhaps try Focus "1 Point H", Metering mode "Centre Weighted" (middle choice) Just an idea. One of the greatest strengths of the X-1 for me is the ability to quickly change modes and settings. There are no "right" settings. " There are no answers, only choices" (Solaris) But this is my first Leica. Experiment and enjoy. I'm a Leica newbee too. :-)
abrewer Posted June 11, 2011 Share #3  Posted June 11, 2011 Agree with HJ above  I use evaluative metering mode on mine, and I have it in "Vivid" color mode with the sharpening one notch below the default  My X1 experience and some shooting tips are in the review
phancj Posted June 11, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted June 11, 2011 Personally I would leave everything in default except sharpening to medium low. Â CJ

It turns down the garish green grass a bit! Allan
prk60091 Posted June 11, 2011 Share #6  Posted June 11, 2011 Personally I would leave everything in default except sharpening to medium low. CJ  agreed the vivid mode over saturates the image IMHO
