lfriden Posted June 9, 2011 Share #1 Posted June 9, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) After more then a year of problem free use of the M9 I have a major problem with corrupt images. All images are milky and un-sharp; they look like they are extremely over exposed. I believe that it may be a sensor problem and I’m prepared to send the camera to Solms. But, before doing that, is it possible to re-install the Firmware, just to make sure that’s not the problem. I should say that I have tried with all my memory cards without any difference. Advertisement Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Hi lfriden, Take a look here Re-install Firmware. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
hoppyman Posted June 9, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 9, 2011 This does not sound like it is related to firmware at all from your brief description. You may be able to perform a firmware install of the same version by carefully following the provided instructions. You can also consider waiting for the new version which is likely to be released this month. I very much doubt that firmware is a involved in the problem you describe but you will likely want to perform that update anyway. I suggest that you look at more basic possibilities first. Are you certain that the lens is clean front and back? Is it an older lens? Can you see any defects when you look through it off the camera? Is this happening in all lighting conditions (for example are you shooting directly into a bright light source)? Have you checked every menu setting? 01af Posted June 10, 2011 Share #3 Posted June 10, 2011 Yes, you can install any M9 firmware version anytime, even when it's the same as or older than the currently installed version. However I agree with Geoff—it's unlikely it will resolve your issues. Still it may be worth a try.
