LuxBob Posted June 6, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted June 6, 2011 My goodness I remember the appalling pictures of this being shelled in the nasty Balkan wars. Hopefully this represents some more advanced thinking on their part. It's a good photo but I cannot help seeing this in this context.

Our trip there (including Bosnia, Croatia and Montenegro) was at times a reminder of the dreadful things that people can do to one another. But the people were wonderfully friendly towards us, and the scenery and towns are very beautiful.

In the times well before the war I had cause to travel deep into Serbia and Croatia for work. I only ever received kindness and hospitality from people who clearly had nothing to spare. I found it hard to understand what happened.

masjah Posted June 6, 2011 Author Share #6 Â Posted June 6, 2011 John -Â Lovely, delightful, and I need to visit it. Â Thank you Stuart. It really is very well worth a visit, but the bridge and the very narrow streets of the old town do get a bit crowded, even when it's not peak tourist season.
