Advertisement Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Hi herbert_villa, Take a look here Mary II. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jmr Posted July 14, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 14, 2006 Herbert, very engaging portrait, good light and a well caught expression. I'm pleased you sorted out the issues you had last time and reposted. One of many more to come, I hope.
ptomsu Posted July 14, 2006 Share #3 Posted July 14, 2006 really like this one! I assume you do BW scanning (what else ...). If you do this how do you remove dust which is scanned in? The ICE function of my Nikon Coolscan 5000 does this only for colour.
stuny Posted July 14, 2006 Share #4 Posted July 14, 2006 Herbert - Considerably improved.
andybarton Posted July 14, 2006 Share #5 Posted July 14, 2006 I assume you do BW scanning (what else ...). If you do this how do you remove dust which is scanned in? The ICE function of my Nikon Coolscan 5000 does this only for colour. The ICE function will not work with silver film, as you know. Personally, I am very careful with dust when I scan my silver negs, and am prepared to "spot" them once they have been scanned. This one is much better than the previous one and is a very honest portrait.
stunsworth Posted July 14, 2006 Share #6 Posted July 14, 2006 Very, very nice. A real portrait rather than just a snapshot. In terms of retouching, if you shoot b&w, the healing brush, patch tool, and now in CS2 the spot healing brush are your best friends :-)

robert_parker Posted July 14, 2006 Share #8 Posted July 14, 2006 Herbert This is lovely, engaging portrait. With a nice and slightly unconventional eye line. Look forward to seeing more.
robert_parker Posted July 14, 2006 Share #9 Posted July 14, 2006 One constructive point, which others might disagree with, is that I would have cropped maybe 5-10mm off of the blank top of the portrait, to focus attention on the very effective 'looking down' expression.
