como Posted June 2, 2011 Share #1 Posted June 2, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) On the roof of the modern arts museum Aros in Aarhus, Denmark is a remarkable piece of architecture/art by Olafur Eliasson. If you are in the neighbourhood of Aarhus don't forget to pay it a visit. Co Morriën

k-hawinkler Posted June 2, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 2, 2011 Co Morriën, Simply stunning. My favorite at so many levels, the last image. Thanks, K-H.
jpattison Posted June 3, 2011 Share #3 Posted June 3, 2011 Great shots; the first is good, the second great, but the third superb! I bet it confused the AWB setting! John
likalar Posted June 3, 2011 Share #4 Posted June 3, 2011 Wow, that is quite a feat, and nicely photographed. The engineers were challenged here, I'm sure. The entire structure seems held up with relatively very seemingly narrow poles. The round roof is supported only by the glass. Amazing, and your shots show it off well. daveleo Posted June 3, 2011 Share #5 Posted June 3, 2011 What a great piece of architecture. It's simple but stunning. You photographs go from "that's interesting" to (to quote Larry) "WOW".
como Posted June 4, 2011 Author Share #6 Posted June 4, 2011 Thank you all for your comments and compliments. I put the AWb setting to daylight as I normally do and did not have to change anything to the colors ore temperature. Being a structural engineer myself I was also impressed by the structure. The roof is supported by the structural layered glass only. The floor consist of a triangle steel tube on very thin circular columns. Stability comes from the staircase and probaly from the elevator for disabled persons. Co Morriën
