The Barnack's Monthly theme for June is the letter M.

This means any subject that starts with the letter "M". Your choice. Mini, Minneapolis, My favourite (whatever), Murder, Mayhem, Mayday, Moonlight, Milk, Mmmmwah ... all qualify.:) (Perhaps anything except "Movement" because I think we've covered that one.)

Everybody's welcome to contribute, any interpretation, any number of posts, any equipment as long as it and the photo complies with the forum's rules. Please post freely - especially newcomers - there's no judging in this thread!

Pete.

Mons. Luigi Pellanda. The bust is mounted on a plaque of marble, it seems.

1951 Mochet CM-125 Luxe Microcar (D-Lux 4)

The French Mochet was a truly timeless car, with a simplicity of design that remained faithful to Charles and his son George’s rather Leica-like philosophy of "if it isn't there it can't break".

The car sold well, partly because a license was not required, and partly because the new postwar French cars from Citroen and Renault had a waiting period of years, compared to Mochet’s six weeks.

Mochet's primitive external contracting band brakes would continue to the end of production. Another stone-age feature was the gearbox separate from the motor. The feeble little 1-cylinder, 2-stroke Zurcher engine produced its 3.5 hp only after a very precise and exacting break-in period, involving eleven five minute stops at carefully prescribed intervals.

The scale of this vehicle is a bit hard to fathom in the image above -- one derives a better appreciation of its diminutive dimensions from the 1951 advertising image included below:
