HBC's 1949 China trip - 35 or 50mm?

Does anyone know which focal HBC used during his 1949 China trip? I know that he used predominantly a 50mm and later seldomly used a 35mm or aven a tele, but it has been hard to track down what lenses he used for specific photos.
