eelekim Posted May 29, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted May 29, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I don't know if it's just me. I found that the AF of my X1 misses more with firmware 2.0 than 1.0... Although 1.0 sucks in certain ways, I do find its AF is very accurate. 2.0 disappoints both at spot and 1-point H.

Allnm Posted May 29, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted May 29, 2011 I think my X1 is different then. I dont think I can recall many times when with the V1 firmware, AF wasnt accurate. Slow sometimes, yes, but always spot on. With V2, AF accuracy is the same, if not better, and its a tad quicker too. Of course, there are some shots that i miss because of the speed of the camera focusing, but I kinda know what I can get first time and what I'm going to need to use another camera for. Â To actually respond to your post...I've found the af to be just as accurate and notably faster in good light. I do a lot of street shooting at f2.8 and I find it locks right where it should very quickly. Have yours checked out.
JeTexas Posted May 31, 2011 Share #7 Â Posted May 31, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I agree that the 2.0 autofocus isn't as accurate in low light. It's MUCH faster, but after reviewing my shots from the Offshore Technology Conference (a big indoor trade show), many were off. It was really disappointing. Â However, I also shot a parade with it a week or so ago and shooting outdoors in daylight, it never missed a shot even with moving subjects. Â Mine has also developed this issue in low light where I'll lock the focus on something, move the camera to frame the shot, but then it won't fire the shutter. I'll have to refocus and try again. However, I'm not sure if that's a firmware issue or just something going on with my camera in particular.
