Advertisement Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Hi Leica Blog, Take a look here Battle of Bokeh: Canon 50mm f/1.2 L vs Leica Noctilux f/0.95. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pico Posted May 27, 2011 Share #2 Posted May 27, 2011 I am more impressed with the young lady's composition than with the bokeh of either lens. The chap centers his image w/o much regard for composition.

stanislaw Posted May 29, 2011 Share #5 Posted May 29, 2011 Hej Mister Digital. Do you ever read what others think about your fotoplay? To start with with your battle of bokeh first. When you compare it should be done on equal terms. So, either you close your Noct to 1.2 or ask the girl to run home and come back with Canon 50/1 L ( there is such thing!). Second thing, it`s much easier to compare picts side by side. Last one, the easiest thing to see bokeh is to take waist to head pict of a person with a background. Otherwise, funny idea this bokeh walk.
Ian Leake Posted June 3, 2011 Share #6 Posted June 3, 2011 I thought the film was quite fun even though it obviously wasn't a scientific test. I haven't used a Noctilux (it's way out of my league), but I have got a Canon 50/1.2. Even if it had wonderful bokeh (and I don't think it does), it's got too much distortion for my taste. I much prefer my Summilux 50. It's a little bit slower than the Canon but at least straight lines come out straight - and it's got lovely bokeh when wide open. schmolinski Posted June 7, 2011 Share #7 Posted June 7, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Very funny film!!! This was the best I ever heard from him! "Bokeh is like a bad hair day - you cant look at anything else" :D:D And probably thus the best bokeh lens ist the Noctilux ;-) since you can't look at anything else when you got it in your hands. Rona!d Posted June 13, 2011 Share #8 Posted June 13, 2011 That was unfair. He used the lens shade, she didn't. So no wonder his shots had more contrast. She had to fiddle with a Nikon strap on a Canon camera and she even couldn't walk with a camera, remember how she stumbled with her girls shoes? How could she take better photos then? fjheimann Posted June 19, 2011 Share #9 Posted June 19, 2011 Having them both it is for me perfecly clear. The nocti is way better in any aspect. Compared M9/5DII, Franz
