exit Posted May 24, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted May 24, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Absolutely great news.... My daughter( age 20) has fallen in love with photography since I gave her a Olympus E-PL1 for Christmas and now wants to leave the Automatic modes of the her camera and truly learn f-stops, DOF, quality of light, and composition. Unfortunately, she is working in another city before she returns to college in the fall and I can't show her the ropes of what I know. I have looked at Thorsten Overgaards' course material for his basic extension course while lusting to fit in one of his more advanced courses for me. The course curriculum for his basic extension course appears solid. Limited research on other online courses has turned up some fairly cheesy stuff. Thorsten's photography is stunning in my view. Has anyone attended here attended/taken one of his courses?

ezc203 Posted May 24, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted May 24, 2011 I remember a while back there was a thread on Mr. Overgaards' course, specifically the one you named. A quick search on the forum may help you find some answers quickly. Â If I recall correctly, there were both people who really benefited from it and people who didn't care much for it. Either way, only you know if it'll help improve your daughter's photography.

menos I M6 Posted May 24, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted May 24, 2011 I post this, as I remember seeing an advert from a RFF user in the RFF classifieds, offering online camera lessons. Â If I remember correctly, the user was "Damaso". Â I have no connection to him, just his classifieds advert poked into my eye, when I shopped for lenses, striking me unusual, as I saw this the first time advertised in a photo forum ;-) Â I can only congratulate you, that someone dear to you exposes an interest in photography. Good luck to your daughter and your findings. Â Â Thorsten Overgaard is highly regarded for his lecturing.

I was a bit unhappy to learn of some participant's experience with Thorsten Overgaard's course as it looks good and I would like to support members on this forum. Anyone else who has other thoughts I thank all of you in advance for your replies. Regards, Exit

Regards, Exit i have not taken @Overgaard's course  however i have read his leica pages on his website from start to finish and over again....the pages and the info on those pages seem solid to me.. i would find it hard to believe his course would not have any benefit to a beginner..  i would say that if you have 100 customers 5 will think it is the best in the world 5 will think it is the worst and the remaining 90 are in the middle..... (i borrowed this from a quote i read years ago- i think it was a baseball manager if i am not mistaken).
