For me, these masterpieces of engineering (the loco not the old guys) are wonderful and a nice set of pictures. But when i was a lad, post war, steam trains were the norm but I never saw one that was anything other than black in colour, either from British Railways inspired sense of design or perhaps just a gentle gathering of soot.
