This is an interesting finder called the Tewe Polyfocus which I bought through the 'bay a week ago, and just got delivered today. $74 including shipping, from Holland. The view is adjustable from 35 to 200. I've got some messing around to do yet -- it seems to be canted slightly to the left, but there's a screw that I think adjusts that, and also, the framing seems more precise if I set it at 200 (for the APO 3.5/135) than if I set it right at 180. We all know that the framing is a little "loose" with the Leica, but it seems with this thing set at 200, I get pretty much what I shoot..At 180, it's a lttle loose, just like regular viewfinder framing. The finder seems to be very well made -- that lever on the side is an adjustment for parallax. It's quite heavy and seems very well made. I don't believe they're made any more, so you have to get them used.

Magnified view, but more constricted than the regular viewfinder. The lens simply zooms from 35 to 200. I haven't yet worked out the exact relationship between the view, at say, 35mm and 90mm and the actual shot; maybe try tomorrow but it's been so damn cold here (right now it's -7f, -21c) that I just haven't been going outside.

If you put that on a gun stock it will be as inconspicious as my D200. ;-)

The angle I took the photo from over-emphasizes the size; it's not that huge. However, once you start putting all kinds of crap on your camera like I have (the soft release, the magnifier) it begins to look kind of funky, and some of that quiet invisibility goes away.

I'd only use this viewfinder once in a great while; the rest of the time it goes back in the little leather pack.
