Throwing it out there to see if anybody has a sample or a link to a sample of how much of the 0.95 nocti lens blocks the field of view of the M9s viewfinder? Advertisement Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Hi Red Dot Fever, Take a look here Noctilux 0.95 viewfinder blockage on M9. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jamesk8752 Posted May 22, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted May 22, 2011 Sean Reid, at his website ReidReviews.com, has a good review of ultrafast 50s for Leica in which he discusses this in detail. In summary, it blocks 11-19% of the view without its hood, depending on the focal distance. With its hood, it blocks 14-22% of the view. While slightly better than the Noctilux 50/1.0 in this regard, it is substantially greater than the various 50/1.4 options. Â Regards, Jim
erl Posted May 23, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted May 23, 2011 Familiarity with the combo "hides" the blockage. I never notice it! Strangely, a few hours ago my dentist was looking at my f1.0 Noct on my M9 and remarked on the obstruction. I had forgotten it happens because I am used to it. It comes down to the way you use the camera/lens combo I guess. That bit in the corner that gets blocked is rarely important in ther image, I find. Xmas Posted May 23, 2011 Share #4  Posted May 23, 2011 Hi  If you are not left eyed dont close left eye, this allows you to see the brick that is about to fotal the M9, noct or your skell... and duck...  It is more difficult with vertical shots... but still not impossible.  Buy a CV f/2.5 5cm as well.  Noel

Xmas Posted May 23, 2011 Share #6  Posted May 23, 2011 Hi  Well unless your have a serious perscription problem you can still use the right eye, it is even easier for you to keep both eyes open and float the frame through the non 1:1 finder by switching the dominance in the bit between your ears. Start watching the TV through your right eye and M9. Like playing musical instrument or pistol, wrong handed...  I've got pescription problems.  Noel
