Paul Verrips Posted May 22, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted May 22, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone who knows how long it takes to send my M9 to Solms (from the Netherlands), have the MP engravement and sent back to my home ? Â I like it the way Thorsten did, but i do not want to miss my beloved M9 for weeks. Advertisement Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Hi Paul Verrips, Take a look here Engraving M9 like MP, how long does it take?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mboerma Posted May 22, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted May 22, 2011 Paul, just send them an email and ask: cs @ leicacamera.com I should be possible within a week, but they might be busy.
jaapv Posted May 23, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted May 23, 2011 Paul, it should not take too long. But you must ask when they can do it, as CS has to book a slot for engraving in the M9 production line. It makes no sense having your camera sitting on a shelf in Solms waiting. At the same time you can have a-la-carte leather applied if you wish. ezc203 Posted May 23, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted May 23, 2011 I just recently went through this process with my M8 Classic. Changed the covering to vulcanite and inquired about the engraving. Â I live in the US and the schedule quoted to me was 6 to 8 weeks, but that was with the re-covering. I suspect it to be less than 6. I opted to only have my camera recovered and it took about 5 weeks (from leaving my hands to shooting again)
jaapv Posted May 23, 2011 Share #5 Â Posted May 23, 2011 Within Europe, it <should> be one week. But only if organized in advance.

I prefer the vulcanite structure, so engraving is all i ask form Santaclaus.

Thanks  I guess M6TTL is no problem.  Email qoute:  Dear Mr. Verrips,  Thank you for your inquiry. The engravement will cost € 200,- and will take about 2 to 3 weeks. Please send the camera to the mentioned address below. de-JTC Posted May 25, 2011 Share #10  Posted May 25, 2011 I just called them and was told it'd cost 300€. Not only that it is already very expensive but also 1.5 times your offer. Kind of confusing to get such varying prices for the same service. What do you think?
jaapv Posted May 25, 2011 Share #11 Â Posted May 25, 2011 The price depends on the engraving.
brill64 Posted May 25, 2011 Share #12 Â Posted May 25, 2011 i think you may want to take into account recent volcanic activity in iceland which may affect air transit times..three weeks turned into three months last time there was an eruption
Paul Verrips Posted May 26, 2011 Author Share #13  Posted May 26, 2011 I only asked for the traditional MP engraving. Just the word "Leica", not  Leica Leica Camera AG Germany
