Leica M3 Double Stroke Requires Three Strokes?

Recommended Posts

My M3 often requires a small third wind of the advance lever before I can press the shutter release. Is that normal? Am I not winding far and forcefully enough on the first two winds?

M3 Double Stroke;

Remove film and work your camera till you get the feel. I kinda think your shorting your second stroke.

The m3 was my work horse for a lot of annual reports and I learned a lot from other Leica people.

My M3 is like that too...I have to make sure I hear or feel that click to know it advanced all the way. Doesn't bother me though. (My very first post)

Hi

And welcome

Lots of people get that even with single strokes, e.g. where the throw is long, even compared with other cameras. It should not require a lot of force though...
